A few of my 'new' favorite things...

So, here are a few things that I've discovered recently that make me smile a little:)...

These sweet invitations are the ones we are using for the family shower my aunt is throwing me. You can buy the digital format from http://www.etsy.com/shop/KelliMaree?ref=seller_info. I love using this method of invitations. There are SO many cute ones on Etsy and it's definitely cheaper when you have several to buy because you can order them like prints from Walmart or Shutterfly.

PINK FLAMINGOS! loving them. I have bought a couple of outfits with them on it for Kathleen. Even a little swimsuit. Hoping to have a 2 year old pink flamingo party this summer:) Planning on smocking these sweet little things on an aqua colored dress. Also, I guess you could count aqua/turquoise as one of my new favorite colors...I can't get enough!

These little beauties are my latest Etsy purchase from a great shop I just discovered called Posh Patina...http://www.etsy.com/shop/PoshPatina?ref=seller_info. She has some of the cutest pieces ranging from $5-$10. you can't beat that! right now, you can use the code SPRINGFEVER for 10% off.

Holy moly, this is by far my favorite! San Pellegrino Aranciata..YUMMO!! my best friend Jaime and her mom served these at the diaper shower they had for me a couple of weeks ago. It was so cold and refreshing. It's like a orange soda kinda thing. don't really know how to explain it but that it's GOOD! I am craving it RIGHT THIS SECOND! Gonna have to make my way to a Publix soon to get some:)

so, there you have it. just a few things that I'm lovin right now:)

TGIF!

Just a note of excitement-Kathleen slept in her big girl bed ALL NIGHT! we have had issues with this since being in the new house. It has been an every night thing with her waking up usually around 1 or 2 and come crying to our bedroom. And, of course, we are so out of it that-where do you think she ends up? yep, in our bed for the rest of the night. But, she has been sleeping later the past few days and she finally made it all night! yay!

ok, so, I let this post sit in here long enough for Kathleen to start getting out of bed again!:/ hehe. oh well...the praise was fun while it lasted! we had a bad weekend from I hope to be teething. the child only has 4 teeth and most her age are working on a mouthful. We went to the doc the other day for a follow up to some ear infections. her ears were perfect but she had been tugging at them and running a mild fever. the doc said it was probably teeth and she had a lot to do before she turned 2. i'm afraid they are all working on coming in at once. oh yay!

let's see....what has been happening...

On April 9th, Mack's cousin, Ben, got married in Pell City. It was one of the sweetest and most beautiful weddings I have ever been too! A few of their pics are in the photographers blog. so good! http://www.studiogphoto.net/blog/?p=824 We had a great time!

Last week, our friend's litte girl, Grace, had her birthday party at ChuckE Cheese. i haven't been in years and was possible more excited about it than Grace was:) Kathleen had a great time and won some gorgeous plastic jewelry with all her tickets. Again, see pics at the top. I wish I knew why I can't drag my pics anymore...

Last weekend, Mack and Brent went fishing all day Saturday and then went camping. Kathleen and I joined them after going to John David's soccer game(He did great!) We fished for a few and then grilled some burgers and hot dogs. Mack had originally wanted me and Kathleen to join him in camping. I told him I could not sleep comfortably in my own bed, much less a tent and there was no way I was staying out there. He then wanted Kathleen to stay.. I knew Saturday morning that wasn't going to happen....It was so stinkin cold that day! and I mean COLD! So we headed back home. we had a great time and kathleen caught a couple of fish with her new Barbie fishing pole her Daddy got her:) once again, see pics above:)

I'm not sure what's wrong with me, but I have been feeling so crafty and Martha Stewart like the last few weeks. of course, I mostly have only gotten as far as thinking of stuff to do-not actually doing it. BUT, I am almost finished smocking Kathleen's flower girl for Jessica's wedding. it's very simple but I like that the most. and she told me just to do something I would use again...so, I went with my trusty flutter sleeve dress, with smocked diamonds. Yes, the same one I've used on almost all the things I have smocked. But, i love it and it's so much easier after you've done it a few times. It's solid pale pink fabric with white smocking. should look awfully pretty on my little blondie:) But, I'm AWFULLY worried about how dirty it will get that day! i will probably be pulling it on and off of her a million times! and then last night...I had seen this on a blog that I had come across on Kiera's blog....wanted to try them SO bad! http://alittleloveliness.blogspot.com/2011/04/pink-lemonade-cupcakes.html so at 8:30 last night I started. they actually turned out really good! I was impressed with myself:) i was hoping my icing would be a little more firm, but maybe next time...

So, in preparation for Bennett I have done....NOTHING! Yep, nothing. i do have my bedding, but I'm not quite ready to put it out yet. I think maybe I will be sad to take kathleen's down-probably part of the problem. i need to get the car seat ready at some point. i feel ready anyways, but need to get some things done around the house before I am chasing 2:) absolutely CAN'T WAIT!

Jessica and Will's shower and others...

We went to visit Zach and Krystal(mack's cousin) and their new baby girl, Makenna on the way back from Georgia a couple of weeks ago. She is gorgeous and Kathleen was glad to meet her:)

Happy St. Patrick's Day-Kathleen and Mamie

Last Saturday, Cecilia and I hosted a tool and kitchen shower for a dear friend of mine and her fiance. Several of the girls from high school and their significant others came and we all enjoyed a wonderful meal made by Cecilia herself! Followed by her homemade apple pies and vanilla ice cream...oh my! yummy! We all hung out on the deck for a little while and the jessica and Will opened some gifts. they got several nice things and we are all very excited for their big day-May 27th. Once again, i'm having issues with moving pics around so anyways:)

Kathleen

It has already been 2 months since I posted last and it just seems like yesterday! What has happened since then?!?......WAY TOO MUCH! My little girl is getting so big and it is CRAZY how time is flying!
6 Months
In January, Kathleen hit the 6th month mark. At that point, she was sitting up on her own and was getting on her hands and knees and rocking back and forth. This turned into sprawling on the floor and maneuvering to where she wanted to go. 2 or 3 weeks later, she was crawling! what the heck! This girl was ready to move! But, I was not ready for her to...I thought I had a little more time to sit her on her playmat and walk out of the room for a minute. Not anymore! Along with crawling, she started pulling up at about the same time. It just amazes me how fast she changed. At her 6 month checkup, she was a doll. She handled her shots soooooo much better....only a slight meltdown. Her were her stats:
Height-26 and 1/4 in
Weight-16lb 8oz
Head circ-16.5
She looked great!

I started feeding her more baby food-I haven't really found any she doesn't like-even peas!. We tried out the sippy cup. she did well the 1st time with it, but every time after that has been a struggle. I'm ok with that-I love still holding her and giving her the bottle( although she is pretty much holding it on her own). We also had her 6 months pics done....oh my-she was wonderful! such a good girl. The pics turned out great...so excited about them!
7 Months
On Kathleen's 7th month birthday, I was off work. Kathleen and I spent the day together-my most favorite thing to do on my days off! I am also including some pics from the snow day we had the week before-we also got to enjoy that gorgeous day together:) we enjoyed a visit to Adairsville to see Mawmaw and Granddad. Kathleen is starting to let go with one hand after she pulls up on things. She has let go with both but plopped right down on her bottom. She LOVES her Jeep walker-may need to get insurance on her in this thing...she is a wild woman in it! Another thing she loves...Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! This is really the only cartoon that keeps her attention at this point. She just stares very seriously at it and then cracks up when the'Hot Dog' song comes on.
-watching very seriously-
She even has her own little dance. She has started to patty-cake and does that alot while she's watching the show-so cute:) and the toy of the year goes to...........................

THE REMOTE CONTROL!

Sometimes I wonder why we even bought her toys:)
-playing with her cousins-
She has started saying 'da,da,da,da' and 'babababa' which is absolutely precious(but I was really hoping she would say mamamama first:) )

A couple of my friends and I threw a diaper shower for 2 of our friends who are just about ready to have their babies! Since Molly wasn't telling what they were having yet while we were planning it, we decided to throw an 'Alabama/houndstooth/tailgating' theme party....it turned out so incredibly cute! They are both Alabama grads so it was quite fitting:)Thanks to Cecilia's creativity, everything was really darling:) I was even creative enough to make a couple of diaper cakes-I was kinda proud! We had chicken fingers and a couple of dips along with canned cokes from a tub-tailgate style:) And,of course, it wouldn't be a shower without Cecilia's awesome cakes! And they got lots of diapers!

We all had a great time-congrats, Molly and Alanna!! Can't wait for those little girls to be here!
